David Ocheltree is a veteran who spent 26 years in the United States Navy. During that time he spent over 14 of those years with the Marine Corps as their Fleet Marine Forces Corpsman. This is where he earned the title... “Doc”. He was responsible for taking care of Navy and Marine Corps personnel’s medical needs. This was conducted in and out of combat. In one of his deployments, David sustained significant injuries that he deals with to this day.
In the military if an individual is promoted they are afforded some form of leadership development course to help in their leadership journey. This happens with every one of David’s promotions throughout his 26 year career. Once he retired from the military in 2018, he noticed that his counterparts in civilian community were not so fortunate.
After speaking with numerous leaders in several industries (manufacturing, hospitality, agriculture and even medical) David discovered that none of those leaders have received any formalized leadership training. That is where the concept of this book came from. “The Art of Leadership” will help fill that leadership training void for leaders of today and leaders of tomorrow.
David is very passionate about Leadership Development, spending time with his wife Amanda and his daughter Isabella. He enjoys learning about history, is very devout in his faith and various forms of exercising his body.
